How to Use Fashion to Improve Self-Confidence

7:30 PM

Clothes in relation to improving confidence has always been a subject for debate. Some say that there's no direct impact at all while others say that it can help you feel good inside. Well, to put the debate to rest, experts claim that clothes have a significant impact on self-esteem. Personally, I agree. The clothes you wear do have an impact on the way you feel, that's why I'm a fashion gambler. For me, fashion is a way of expression. A way of highlighting my best assets so I can look presentable and attractive. And surprisingly, whenever I make an effort to dress up a little bit, I also feel good deep inside. I'm pretty sure, too, that other fashionistas out there will attest to what I just said.

So anyway, how can you use fashion to increase self-esteem? Well, the answer lies within your determination to improve yourself. And if you're ready, here are some tips you can use:

1. Develop your own personal style.

The clothes you choose to wear tell a lot about who you are, your interests, your aspirations and inspirations and whatnot. In short, the very essence of you. So if you want to feel comfortable in your own skin, choose a style that suits your personality. If you're a carefree type of person, would you wear business suits? Definitely not. Instead, you'd probably go for something like bohemian styling or other.

2. Go for clothing colors that flatter your skin tone.

One of the secrets to looking radiant even in the simplest outfit is to choose colors that compliment your skin tone. For example, if you have warm skin tone, jewel colors such as emerald and ruby will look great on you. For more insights on this, check this article out.

3. Select clothes that flatter your body.

It's amazing how clothes can give you instant makeover. So use them to your advantage. When shopping for clothes, especially online such as at Lookbook Store, take the time to check the measurements to make sure that the item will really fit you. Why? Trust me when I say fit can either make or break your look. Labels matter less if the size doesn't fit you right so be sure the buy the right size.

Finding out your own personal style, clothes size and color can sound overwhelming. But the answer lies in experimenting different styles and colors. Don't be afraid to gamble in fashion because it's in trying out things that you'll discover what your true fashion taste is. And by then, you'll be able to use clothes to make you feel confident.

  20. what a great post! yes I completely agree with you, what you wear def affects your mood and self confidence. Whenever I dress up a little bit more than usual, I feel happier and just better with myself. I don't think you need to pick one style to define you, as long as you have fun with it you can have a bohemian style look one day and a sophisticated minimalistic look on the other! :) and yes sizes! good fits! matters more than brands! Thanks for sharing all these good tips.
I invite you to visit my blog and if you like it let me know if you like it and would like to follow each other to stay in touch.
